The inspiring story of Sabrina Fichet, APU Shift Manager at Chalon-sur-Saône site, Verallia France

After twenty years in the food industry as a Production Workshop Manager, Sabrina felt the need to challenge herself and explore a new industrial environment. In 2021, she chose Verallia to take on a new challenge and broaden her professional horizons.

Her journey began with the “Cold-End Diagnostic Methods” training program, followed at Verallia’s internal training centre in Chalon-sur-Saône. This step introduced her to diagnostic and problem-solving techniques at the cold end of the glassmaking process, where bottles, once formed, are cooled, inspected and packaged. “That’s when I realized how much glass requires rigor and precision,” she recalls.

For eighteen months, she learned how to operate inspection machines and discovered the high-quality standards required to produce bottles for the general public. This experience allowed her to strengthen the skills acquired during training and confirmed her interest in such a demanding and stimulating industrial environment.

The management team at the Chalon-sur-Saône plant then entrusted her with a position as APU Shift Manager — “an opportunity I proudly accepted,” she says. To help her feel fully legitimate in her new responsibilities, she benefited from a comprehensive and supportive onboarding program that enabled her to take on her role “confidently and well supported.”

Today, Sabrina is proud to contribute to Verallia’s industrial excellence. Her story is a testament to the Group’s commitment to internal mobility, continuous learning, and inclusive leadership. Her story illustrates how support, trust and knowledge sharing can help anyone reinvent themselves and find their place, at any stage of their career.
