The inspiring story of Jennifer Kuffer, Project Engineer at Neuburg site, Verallia Germany

When Jennifer started her apprenticeship as a mechatronics engineer at Verallia in Neuburg, Germany in 2013, she was a young woman entering a predominantly male technical environment. Working across various departments – electrical workshop, cold-end, metalworking – she gained valuable knowledge and skills but wondered: would she find her place and truly contribute to something meaningful in this complex industry?

The turning point came when Jennifer discovered her passion for glass and its unique properties. She realized that by working at Verallia, she could give real meaning to her work – contributing to reimagining glass and its value to build a sustainable future. What fascinated her wasn’t just the manufacturing process, but glass’s infinite recyclability and timeless appeal. Every glass is unique, and she became proud to spot Verallia’s punt mark in her private life, knowing she contributed to creating these sustainable products.

Jennifer embraced every development opportunity with determination. She completed a two-year full-time program to become a state-certified technician with a bachelor’s degree, maintaining contact with Verallia throughout. After working as a Quality Expert, she became Project Engineer in 2021, leading diverse implementation projects. As a woman, she often had to prove herself and overcome prejudices, but her performance gained colleagues’ acceptance. The “Next Generation Leader” program, colleague support, and management backing helped her grow from trainee to expert.

Today, Jennifer is proud to shape the future of glass – a material at the heart of Verallia’s purpose. As a company fire department member, she trains up to 100 people on health and safety day and shares knowledge in food safety courses. Through trade fairs and storytelling, she inspires girls to pursue technical careers and promotes glass at the most sustainable packaging in the world. Her story at Verallia continues to unfold, driven by endless fascination with glass and diverse daily activities. She embodies how passion, purpose, and sustainability come together when you choose to work at Verallia.
