André joined Verallia in 2013 as a project engineer at the Neuburg plant in Germany. He was an outsider with a mechanical engineering background focused on vehicle production technology. Fresh from the Technical University of Munich, he had discovered Verallia almost by chance while working on his master’s thesis about solid-blank machine optimization. Surrounded by experienced glassmaking professionals, he was fascinated by the varied manufacturing process but wondered: would he find his place in this tight-knit family-like environment?
The turning point came when André realized Verallia was a place where his potential could truly flourish. His master’s thesis was well received, leading to his direct hiring. He discovered a safe & inclusive environment where every talent is valued, and where being different was not a barrier but a strength. What captivated him wasn’t just the magical transformation from sand to beautiful jars and bottles, but also the unique team spirit at Neuburg – almost like a family.
André embraced every growth opportunity with determination. In 2018, he became head of the mold workshop, managing 26 employees – a significant leap from having no personnel responsibility. In 2019, he advanced to APU Manager and even temporarily took over plant management. The biggest challenge? Learning to lead people. His technical background helped, but it was learning-by-doing,and Verallia’s commitment to developing its people that made the difference. When he requested to return to his previous role for personal reasons, management’s understanding confirmed the trust and care Verallia places in its employees.
Over 12 years, André built a fulfilling career while staying true to himself. His focus on long-term, sustainable solutions and his belief in his own path made him proud of his journey. The teamwork, support from superiors, and the board’s trust enabled his growth in a motivating environment. Today, as APU Manager, André sees his story as just beginning. Verallia didn’t just offer him a career—it offered a place where his outsider perspective became a strength, proving that when talent meets the right environment, potential is truly unlocked.
